Job Summary

The Associate Analytical Technician supports pilot plant operations by conducting laboratory analyses and evaluating results that provide critical operational data. This role is responsible for preparing samples, operating laboratory instruments, monitoring analytical systems, and documenting results in accordance with established procedures. The position requires a working knowledge of basic scientific principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written instructions while maintaining accurate laboratory records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pilot plant and manufacturing operations by performing laboratory analyses and reporting results.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analytical systems.
  • Prepare samples and assist with basic calibration activities.
  • Monitor analytical systems and performance, identifying issues and escalating concerns as needed.
  • Conduct routine observations, calculations, and recording of experimental and analytical results.
  • Evaluate analytical results for accuracy and validity using basic scientific and statistical methods.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including laboratory notebooks, calibration records, and analytical results.
  • Use laboratory data systems to acquire and track data and monitor system performance.
  • Communicate analytical results clearly to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and operating discipline procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to laboratory tools, methods, and work processes.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with basic scientific principles and laboratory practices.
  • Prior laboratory experience or exposure to laboratory instrumentation and analytical methods.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to perform calculations and record results accurately.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to work with laboratory data systems and standard office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to report findings clearly.
