Associate Analytical Technician

We are seeking an Associate Analytical Technician to join a collaborative laboratory team in Lake Jackson, Texas. This role is responsible for performing analytical and physical testing, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, monitoring experiments, recording results, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates and recent graduates of chemical technician or related laboratory programs. Comprehensive safety and laboratory training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.

• Perform analytical testing using gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC), and titrators.

• Conduct physical testing, including appearance, color, and solids analysis.

• Monitor experiments, make observations, calculate results, and accurately document findings.

• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and records in accordance with established procedures.

• Follow written procedures, laboratory protocols, and safety requirements.

• Unpackage and prepare sample kits received by the laboratory.

• Collaborate with laboratory technicians and subject matter experts to complete sample testing efficiently and accurately.

• Support a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of scientific and laboratory principles.

• Laboratory experience through education, internship, or previous work experience.

• Ability to follow written instructions and established laboratory procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, or relevant education in chemistry, chemical technology, laboratory science, or a related field.

• Experience with chromatography, titration, or physical laboratory testing.

• Familiarity with GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, or OSHA requirements.

Training & Work Environment
New hires will complete approximately 4–6 weeks of required safety and laboratory training before handling chemicals. Following initial training, employees will work closely with a subject matter expert for instrument-specific training until they are able to work independently.
The laboratory environment is highly collaborative, with approximately 10 technicians working together to complete sample testing.

Physical/Work Environment

• Work is performed indoors in a laboratory setting.

• No field sample collection is required.

• Samples are shipped directly to the laboratory for testing.

• Employees will unpackage sample kits but will not perform outdoor or field collection activities.
