Position Description:
We are an innovative company specializing in automotive engineering and system design. Our Underbody System team plays a critical role in developing cutting-edge solutions for electric motors, power units, transmissions, axles, and related systems. We are seeking a talented and motivated CFD Engineer to join our team and contribute to the advancement of our virtual tools and methodologies. As a CFD Engineer on our Underbody System team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods to support system design and testing. This role requires a strong technical background, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience Required:
Other Skills Required: CFD, Two phase flow modeling, Turbulence modeling, SPH, STAR-CCM +, CFD correlation, 1D modeling Experience Required: 1 to 5 years of automotive industry or related 5 years of experience with CFD modeling and method development 5 years of experience with two phase flow modeling

Experience Preferred:
1 to 3 years of experience with 1D modeling preferred not required

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree

***POSITION IS HYBRID (3 days/wk. in the office and switching to 4 days/wk. Sept 1)*** • Prepare CAD for CFD Modeling: Develop high-quality CAD models for CFD simulations, ensuring accuracy and relevance to system requirements. • Plan CFD Methods Development: Design and implement CFD methods as virtual tools for systems such as electric motors, power units, transmissions, axles, and more. • Interpret Systems Team Requirements: Translate system team requirements into CFD method development plans, ensuring alignment with testing methodologies. • Conduct Advanced CFD Simulations: Perform simulations for complex physics applications, including two-phase flow, conjugate heat transfer (CHT), and turbulence modeling. • Plan Physical Tests for CFD Correlation: Coordinate with testing teams to plan physical tests that validate CFD methods and ensure accuracy. • Correlate CFD Methods: Compare simulation results with physical test data, refine methods, and document best practices. • Automate Processes: Develop and implement automation scripts using languages like Java and Python to streamline CFD workflows and improve efficiency. • Prepare Presentations and Communicate Regularly: Share findings, updates, and recommendations with the Systems team through clear and concise presentations and reports.
