Maintenance Planner Lead

Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner Lead is responsible for developing comprehensive job packages that support the safe, effective, and efficient execution of maintenance work. This role plans labor, materials, equipment, and services required for maintenance activities while ensuring work packages meet technical, safety, and procedural requirements. The Maintenance Planner Lead also serves as a technical resource, providing guidance on maintenance planning processes and supporting continuous improvement of work plans and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed job packages from approved work orders, including labor, materials, tools, equipment, and external services required for execution.
• Review work orders for technical completeness and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve missing or inaccurate information.
• Perform field assessments as needed to validate job scope and planning requirements.
• Enter and maintain work plans in the Global Engineering and Maintenance Tracking System (GEMTS).
• Identify task sequences, resource requirements, and execution steps to ensure efficient maintenance planning.
• Incorporate applicable safety requirements, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation measures into all job packages.
• Ensure compliance with the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by including approved procedures or verifying tasks are listed on the Procedure Exemption List before release.
• Support the creation, revision, and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, checklists, and related documentation.
• Initiate and support Management of Change (MOC) activities for maintenance procedures when required.
• Utilize feedback from maintenance personnel to continuously improve job plans and planning processes.
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise to support maintenance planning activities and coordinate work as a team lead when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of hands-on maintenance experience will be considered.
• Two to five years of relevant maintenance planning or maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience creating maintenance work packages, planning maintenance activities, and coordinating required resources.
• Strong understanding of maintenance procedures, safety practices, and work management systems.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably GEMTS or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work collaboratively across maintenance and operations teams.

Note: This position is focused on mechanical maintenance planning. Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience is not required.
