Technician – Noise and Vibration / Chassis Dyno
Description
The technician will be responsible for working within our clients Noise and Vibration / Chassis Dyno Lab to ensure 1st time quality and on-time delivery of test data for the various test areas. Support various engineering groups that are responsible for meeting federal requirements and internal requirements. Technicians need to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle multiple projects with minimal supervision all while working with various organizations during the vehicle development process. This Opportunity will offer positions on all three shifts.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, build, install, and teardown instrumentation for the various tests requested by engineering.
- Setup and troubleshooting of test automation systems and non-intrusive driving robots.
- Evaluate results; Produce quality test data in accordance with Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS) and Federal Regulatory requirements, per documented NHTSA procedures.
- Investigate mechanical/electrical operational difficulties on products and/or components
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and computer/software problems with test equipment and properties.
- Schedule work load and test equipment usage and calibration
- Test vehicle installation, removal and monitoring
- Work with vehicle communication tools including INCA, V-spy, General CAN, NeoVi, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge with instrumentation installation, troubleshooting and repair.
- A valid drivers license
- Excellent mechanical assembly and disassembly skills.
- Experience with hand and air tools.
- Data acquisition, review and troubleshooting experience.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both independent and team environments.
- Ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, power point, Outlook).
- Ability to handle basic project assignments with minimum supervision.
- Ability to repeatedly perform activities involving bending, twisting, pulling and lifting of vehicle components up to 50 pounds, unassisted. Moving test equipment and portable tools(70-200#) around the shop as required. Perform overhead and under dash assembly/disassembly operations on every build. Stand for long periods of time while performing build tasks.
- Ability to operate vehicle movers, walkies or fork trucks.
- Maintains good housekeeping and safe practices

Education Requirements
- Minimum two-year associate degree in automotive technology or equivalent (ASE Master Mechanic with multiple years of dealership experience)
- 2-5yrs of electrical and/or mechanical hands-on experience

- Familiarity with Test automation systems
