Plant Engineer General Position Description:
Work with manufacturing engineers’ production & maintenance teams to develop manufacturing plant layouts, material handling systems, and/or process optimization for facilities worldwide that meet client Production System (FPS) & Synchronous Material Flow (SMF) requirements.
– Determine optimum material & pedestrian flow through the production facility.
– Support new model processing by performing layout analysis, planning, and implementation.
– Prepare equipment installation drawings and packages.
– Develop production processes aligned to standard Bill of Process strategies through system inquiry, simultaneous engineering, build, installation, and commissioning phases.
– Review new equipment during run-off at supplier and plant to validate capability, robustness, safety, and layout per client Specifications (may require traveling to vendor and plant sites). – Ensure production systems meet all objectives through Process Design and Layout.
– Interface with plant personnel with appropriate timing and installation documentation to ensure efficient, timely installation and validation
– Use lessons learned to develop program studies and improve the standard Bill of Processes.
– Coordinate new and/or relocated machinery installations through the Power-on milestone.
– Survey installed equipment and existing plants and update plant master drawings. – Emphasis on delivery and continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
