Principal Developer

The Principal ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on Security Operations and cybersecurity initiatives. This role partners with Service Managers, Product Owners, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, automated, and high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency and support enterprise security objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, and platform capabilities.
• Build and enhance solutions using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Business Rules, Scripted APIs, UI components, and custom applications.
• Develop and support ServiceNow Security Operations modules, including Security Posture Control (SPC), Vulnerability Response (VR), Security Incident Response (SIR), and Operational Technology Management (OTM).
• Design and implement integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, Integration Hub, and orchestration capabilities.
• Integrate ServiceNow with enterprise security platforms, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, SailPoint, BeyondTrust, Symantec, and other cybersecurity tools.
• Support CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Asset Management, and Configuration Compliance initiatives.
• Develop workflow automation, remediation processes, exception management, and security reporting solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver prioritized enhancements and ensure successful project execution.
• Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for ServiceNow solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 12 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent military experience at or above U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class/Sergeant.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing and configuring solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
• Strong expertise with ServiceNow Security Operations modules, including SPC, VR, SIR, and OTM.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server, Flow Designer, and enterprise integrations.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains, including Vulnerability Management, Security Posture Management, Risk Management, Compliance, and Identity & Access Management.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, SailPoint, BeyondTrust, Symantec, and similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Asset Management, and Configuration Compliance.
• Experience supporting Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations in a managed services environment.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and collaborate effectively with business, IT, and cybersecurity stakeholders.
• Experience driving automation, platform optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
