Creates value for the company by ensuring that project teams use the company’s Global Purchasing strategies and achieve project goals relating to cost, delivery, quality and safety through Global Project Methodology (GPM) and the capital procurement work processes. In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline’s best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others. It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
• Achieves goals by developing and implementing project supply strategies and procurement management plans for projects they are assigned
• Ensures that procurement involvement with project teams globally delivers the maximum possible value to the Businesses, Joint Venture (JV) or 3rd party affiliate partner
• Ensures that the strategic sourcing activities and procurement operating discipline is followed to help assure project efficiency and purchasing effectiveness
• Helps determine overall project needs and presents these needs and opportunities to Strategic Sourcing Center team
• Provides consulting, training, guidance, and leadership as a key project team member in support of capital or expense projects, as applicable, including potential business account relationships
• Identifies strategic value contribution opportunities and defines value contribution projects based on business discussions and interfaces with the business and/or project
• Develops customized project procurement plan(s) and instructions for each project and distributes to Purchasing and project personnel
• Plans, schedules and ensures that procurement schedules are compatible with project schedules, risk management plans and especially-critical equipment and construction labor
• Applies knowledge of supply market conditions from manufacturing and labor area contractors to guide the project team in project planning and execution to proactively forecast problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred, not required
• Experience in the chemical or related industrial industry
• Familiarity with technical language used in engineering and capital projects
