R&D/TS&D Technician

Position Summary
The R&D/TS&D Technician provides laboratory and technical support to the Catalyst Scale-Up R&D team, contributing to catalyst development, testing, and laboratory operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, a commitment to safety, and a proactive, reliable approach in a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Follow established operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure safe and efficient laboratory operations.
• Prepare, analyze, and test catalyst materials under the guidance of R&D team members.
• Safely handle, sample, and analyze catalysts, catalyst components, and raw materials, including air- and moisture-sensitive materials using inert atmosphere gloveboxes, vacuum lines, nitrogen systems, and other specialized equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory-scale reactors and related equipment.
• Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including glovebox and vacuum system upkeep, gas cylinder management, and minor equipment maintenance.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including catalysts, ligands, intermediates, and gas cylinders.
• Coordinate sample packaging and shipping.
• Support hazardous waste management activities in accordance with RCRA and company requirements.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and support general laboratory organization and housekeeping.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of laboratory, industrial, chemical, maintenance, or related technical experience.
• Background in chemistry or a closely related scientific field strongly preferred.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, research, laboratory, or other technical environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to working safely in regulated laboratory or industrial settings.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment.

Education

• Associate's degree in chemistry, Chemical Technology, Process Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another science-related discipline is preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
