Position Description:
The Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering (VPSE) Calibration organization is seeking a motivated Technician/Technologist to serve as a bridge between engineering, vehicle coordination, and technologist functions. This hands-on role includes instrumentation, data-collection, and vehicle/fleet support for internal combustion and electrified powertrain test programs. The successful candidate will support in-vehicle test procedure execution, fleet and vehicle logistics, post-processing of drive data with engineering guidance, and CAN-bus/benchmarking data extraction. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically curious individual who wants to learn powertrain driveability metrics, grow data-processing skills, and work side-by-side with powertrain calibration engineers.

Skills Required:
1. Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) – You will be expected to identify and resolve unexpected issues that arise, such as data collection software or post-processing errors, by systematically investigating the problem until a solution is found. This requires a persistent and methodical approach, ensuring you don't give up at the first hurdle. 2. Instrumentation – You will be responsible for learning about and skillfully installing and uninstalling a pre-defined set of sensors and measurement devices, ensuring their correct placement and verifying their reliability/precision for accurate data capture. This involves becoming proficient with the specific tools and procedures for our established testing setups. 3. Data Acquisition – You will be responsible for configuring and operating data collection software to efficiently collect, process, and store large volumes of real-time vehicle data for subsequent analysis and calibration development. This includes ensuring data integrity and proper storage for post-processing.

Skills Preferred:
Mechanical Engineering, Calibration, Technical Documentation, Matlab, Electrical Engineering

Experience Required:
2+ years of hands-on experience supporting vehicle testing, test instrumentation, data acquisition, and/or fleet coordination for automotive vehicles.

Experience Preferred:
4+ years supporting powertrain testing or calibration teams, experience with ATI Vision/ETAS INCA/AVL-DRIVE applications, and prior responsibility of fleet coordination for automotive vehicles.

Required:
Associate Degree, Certification Program
