This morning, G-TECH was among the employers honored at the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency’s third annual Veteran-Friendly Employers Awards and Recognition Breakfast. This year’s event paid tribute to those companies who are helping to break down the barriers that veterans face in landing civilian jobs. In 2011, the veteran unemployment rate in Michigan was approximately 34%. Today, this rate is around 3.7%, a powerful testament to the work of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency and the employers supporting their efforts.
G‑TECH is a longtime advocate of veteran hiring and a Bronze-Level Veteran-Friendly Employer certified by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. As part of our commitment to supporting our nation’s veterans and their families, we actively seek out veteran candidates and encourage them to apply for positions within our organization. 10% of our employees are military veterans, and we are dedicated to growing this number every year. We also educate our clients on the value of hiring veterans while providing the tools they need to effectively interview and manage veteran contract employees.
